Overview

Are you an experienced retail assistant seeking a new challenge? We are seeking an Shop Assistant with a passion for retail, animal welfare and delivering exceptional customer service.

About us

The RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid, North East and Lincoln branch are an independently run branch of the RSPCA. The money raised in our charity shops is key to being able to fund our work to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need across Lincolnshire.

If you are passionate about animals, and have a desire to put your retail sales experience to good use, raising money to support our animal welfare objectives, we want to hear from you.

Main tasks

Shop Operations/Sales

Support charity shop operations around stock management and merchandising. Ensure that the shop and window presentation standards are met including the rotation of goods, window displays and promotional activities. Undertake cleaning duties as required to ensure the appropriate standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the shop including the sales floor, stock processing area, offices and communal areas. Process donated stock to the agreed standards and timescale, minimising stock loss. Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained. Supporting fundraising activities within the Shop. Supporting social media activity for the shop to raise awareness and customer foot-fall. Supporting online marketplace activities including setting aside donations accordingly.

Shop Finances

Ensure all operational financial procedures adhered to including cash handling, daily banking and security procedures. Excellent attention to detail on all financial transactions including till use for cash and card payments.

Property

Where required, take responsibility for the shop premises security including key holding. Ensure compliance with the branch's health and safety policy (including fire safety, risk assessments and security procedures) and relevant legislation

People

Support volunteers to work to agreed standards.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 6 per week
