The Signalling Manager is responsible for leading the bi-national Signalling Maintenance Team in accordance with Eurotunnel's standards and Human Resources policies. This role ensures the full implementation of asset management and maintenance practices, with a strong emphasis on safety, technical compliance, team wellbeing, and operational efficiency.
The role's core objective is to ensure the quality, availability, and reliability of all railway signalling equipment, meeting defined performance targets while maintaining strict adherence to the allocated budget. It also involves actively promoting Eurotunnel's four pillars of success: Safety Systems and Culture, Operational Excellence, Commitment and Team Cohesion, and Customer Satisfaction.
As a safety-critical position, the Signalling Manager holds direct responsibility and accountability for the safety, reliability, and real-time availability of trackside signalling assets.
Hold full responsibility and accountability for the track assets under the Eurotunnel concession, ensuring their safety, reliability, and operational readiness.
Organise and oversee the maintenance activities of the Signalling teams in compliance with French, British, and European regulations, particularly in relation to health and safety and labour law.
Implement and uphold signalling system maintenance standards, ensuring alignment with safety guidelines and facilitating the collection and use of technical data and system expertise.
Prepare and manage maintenance and renewal plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and the development of associated OPEX and CAPEX budgets for the Signalling Department and its assets.
Establish and maintain a sustainable process for ensuring staff qualifications, including tools and systems to monitor, verify, and enhance knowledge, practical skills, interpersonal behaviours, and physical capabilities. Ensure team competence and motivation are consistently supported.
Prepare or contribute to the development and revision of documentation related to signalling systems, such as principles, procedures, instructions, plans, and technical illustrations. Draft technical specifications for maintenance contracts and participate in the selection of subcontractors.
Lead the implementation of the company's safety policy, covering personnel safety, equipment integrity, working conditions, and environmental protection. Define, lead, and monitor preventive actions to support this policy.
Define and manage systems for monitoring the effectiveness of departmental policies, including customer satisfaction, audits, product compliance, organisational efficiency, and achievement of objectives. Analyse outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance operations.
