To deliver engaging, high-quality singing tuition as part of our vibrant performing arts team, inspiring and developing the vocal skills of students aged 6-18. The teacher will work with students of mixed abilities, fostering confidence, musicality, and a love of performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver age-appropriate singing lessons, both one-to-one and in small or large group settings.
Teach a wide repertoire, covering a variety of styles (e.g., musical theatre, pop, classical) to meet the interests and abilities of students.
Prepare students for performances, auditions, and showcases as required.
Provide constructive feedback and set achievable goals to support students' vocal development and confidence.
Collaborate with other members of the performing arts team to contribute to end of term productions, concerts, and special events.
Ensure lessons are inclusive, safe, and supportive, catering to the needs of students at all skill levels.
Promote good vocal health and correct technique among students.
Person Specification:Essential:
Strong vocal ability with experience performing and/or teaching a range of styles.
Experience teaching singing to children and young people.
Ability to engage and motivate students of different ages and abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of vocal pedagogy and good vocal health practices.
Organised, reliable, and able to work collaboratively within a team.
Desirable:
Experience preparing students for productions or auditions.
Ability to accompany students on piano or provide backing tracks.
Experience contributing to school productions or directing vocal ensembles.
