Wolds Animal Group is searching for a creative, confident, and highly organised

Social Media Manager

to join our marketing department on a

12-month fixed-term maternity cover

contract. This is an exciting opportunity to champion the social presence of two beloved brands--Lords & Labradors and Aqua Group--while shaping content that delights pet owners and aquatic enthusiasts across the UK.

Key Responsibilities



Content Strategy & Planning



Develop and execute a compelling social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging platforms. Plan monthly content calendars that align with trading priorities, new product launches, seasonal trends, and wider brand goals. Produce creative briefs and work closely with designers, photographers, and videographers to deliver engaging, on-brand content.

Content Creation & Community Engagement



Create, edit, and publish high-quality content including posts, stories, short-form videos, and live content. Engage actively with the community by responding to comments, messages, and tagging opportunities in a timely and brand-appropriate manner. Foster a positive and loyal online community, ensuring customer questions are acknowledged and brand values are reinforced.

Brand Growth & Channel Development



Drive follower growth, engagement, and reach across all platforms using strategic initiatives, trends, and audience insights. Maintain a strong understanding of platform algorithms, best practices, and emerging social trends to keep content relevant and competitive. Collaborate with the CRM and SEO teams to ensure messaging is consistent and part of a cohesive multichannel strategy.

Campaign Execution & Influencer Collaboration



Manage social activity supporting key campaigns, including new product launches, promotional events, and partnerships. Identify, brief, and manage influencer and brand ambassador relationships to drive awareness, affinity, and user-generated content. Review and negotiate influencer proposals to ensure strong ROI.

Insights, Reporting & Performance Management



Track channel metrics including engagement, reach, click-throughs, and follower growth, providing actionable insights to the wider marketing team. Monitor competitor activity and industry benchmarks to maintain a proactive content approach. Adjust strategy and content output based on data-led learnings and ongoing channel performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration



Work closely with Marketing, E-Commerce, Customer Service, and Product teams to ensure social content supports business objectives. Align with the wider marketing calendar to deliver cohesive storytelling across all touchpoints. Coordinate with external agencies when supporting campaign amplification or content production.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Hard Skills



Proven experience managing multiple social media channels for a consumer-facing brand, ideally within e-commerce or retail. Strong understanding of social media analytics, platform insights, and industry tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics, Canva, scheduling platforms, etc.). Confident in content creation, including short-form video, photography briefs, and editing tools. Experience managing influencer partnerships and UGC campaigns. Understanding of brand consistency, tone of voice, and audience segmentation.

Soft Skills



Creative mindset with strong storytelling ability. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. Adaptable and proactive, with a keen eye for detail. Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to coordinate with influencers, agencies, and cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.
