Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention Team (Torbay)
Rate: Up to 42 per hour (DOE)
Accommodation Allowance: 150 per week
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Long-term placement
Location: Torbay (office-based up to 3 days/week; remote working outside duty weeks)
Overview:
Torbay Council is seeking experienced agency Social Workers to join the Assessment & Intervention Service. This is a fast-paced frontline role covering CIN, CP, and statutory assessments. You will manage a caseload of approximately 20-24 cases and participate in a duty rota of one week in every three.

Requirements (DfE Agency Compliance):
Minimum 3 years PQE within an English local authority
Must not have left a permanent children's services role within the past 6 months, or from a LA in the South West region
Must attend the Torbay office weekly
Ability to travel across Torbay (and occasionally out of county)
Supervision & Support:
Regular supervision (typically fortnightly, varying by team)
Team structure includes a Team Manager, Advanced Social Worker, and 4-5 Social Worker
