Job Purpose
Ensure at all times the highest standards of care are delivered to the services users whilst working within the defined company policies and procedures. Ensure all nursing practices are evidence based and reflect current trends. Work with the deputy manager, Home Manager and other trained nurses in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating quality nursing care. Supervising and training care assistants and ensuring the full and professional delivery of care to the clients.
Responsible For
To have up to date evidence based clinical knowledge in relation to client groups cared for within the Home.
To be able to communicate at appropriate levels with all residents, relatives, staff, other professionals and outside agencies involved in the care of the clients.
To be committed to expanding their expertise and professional development.
To have a good understanding of the role and function of the Care Home.
To be an effective team leader and role model.
To have the knowledge to make research based decisions regarding nursing care needs.
To have a flexible approach to working hours.
To be committed to teaching and facilitating learning for all unqualified care staff.
To be able at all times to audit the care delivered to their clients ensuring that all their needs are met.
To carry out such duties, including management of the unit, as deemed necessary by the Home Manager in order to ensure the smooth running of the Home.
To keep the Home Manager informed of any changes in the need of resources.
To be fully conversant with the following NMC codes of practice:
