Who we are:



The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. The people we support tell us that they want "good support from kind and friendly people" - so that is what we are looking for!

Introduction to the role:



Your role will be to support people with learning disabilities, autism and other complex needs with day-day tasks, promoting individuals' independence by enabling them to build on their strengths and achieve their goals, dreams and wishes. You will be supporting individuals in their own homes and in the community with all aspects of daily living skills, including personal care, medication, accessing appointments and activities, cooking, budgeting and being part of the community.

We are looking for people who are patient, compassionate, understanding and able to use their own initiative. Your main area of work would be Crawley and Horsham. It is a rewarding and varied role and one that really makes a difference to the lives of the people we support.

You will need to have good communication skills and just enjoy spending time with people.

Some learning disability and/or caring experience in supporting people either professionally or personally is preferred for this role.

The people we support have asked for staff who are Patience, fun, caring and will support me to go out in the community.
