Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and in-home care environments. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through patient care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being. Support individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia care, employing effective behaviour management techniques. Help with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client health to appropriate personnel. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their comfort during transport.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving or support work is preferred, particularly in assisted living or nursing home settings. Knowledge of senior care practices, hospice care, Alzheimer's care, and dementia care is highly desirable. Certification in first aid is an advantage. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting when necessary. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
