The Tax Controller - Indirect Taxes, will play a key role in managing SiriusPoint's Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) processes across 20 jurisdictions. The primary responsibility is to compile, reconcile, and consolidate tax data into summary reports for an external service provider to file IPT returns. The role also includes preparing VAT submissions for Sweden, Belgium, and Switzerland, as well as supporting various ad hoc tax controlling activities. This position reports to the Tax Director, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Your responsibilities will include:

Excise Tax & IPT Data Coordination:

Gather, reconcile, and summarize data from multiple files and sources related to SiriusPoint's Excise Tax and IPT across 20 European jurisdictions. Prepare consolidated data sheets for the external service provider, who handles the actual IPT filings. Oversee monthly tax data processing, bookkeeping, and payment workflows. Proactively seek and implement process improvements and robust tax controls as part of daily tax operations.

VAT Compliance:

Prepare and submit VAT returns for Sweden, Belgium, and Switzerland, including monthly high-level review of VAT accounting in the GL accounts payable.

Withholding Tax:

Prepare basic withholding tax forms on an ad hoc basis as needed.

Ad hoc Tax Controlling:

Assist with tax controlling tasks, including reconciliations and reporting.

Collaboration:

Work closely with colleagues in the European-based tax team and other finance/accounting colleagues across Europe. With support from more senior tax colleagues, liaise with external advisors and local authorities as needed.

Your skills and abilities should include:

3-5 years of experience in Excise Tax Returns within Europe. Demonstrated experience in Excise Tax compliance and returns coordination across multiple European jurisdictions. Strong accounting knowledge, with the ability to manage bookkeeping and tax-related payments. Basic understanding of European VAT regulations and compliance processes. Experience with data compilation, reconciliation, and working with external service providers. Attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Solution-driven mindset. Bachelor's degree in economics, accounting, or a related field is preferred. Fluency in English is required. Swedish language proficiency an asset.
