We are looking for an experienced, dynamic
University Applications (UCAS Support) / Careers Adviser and Academic Mentor
for a long-established, private college in Central London, rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in its most recent inspections.
Core responsibilities
Proactively manage the UCAS applications process for all College students
Deliver 1:1 and small-group guidance on UCAS, personal statements, course choices, apprenticeships and alternatives.
Run sessions on researching courses, writing personal statements, interview preparation and key deadlines.
Track and ensure timely references and predicted grade information for applications.
Curate current resources on courses, careers and super-curriculars; maintain the UCAS timeline.
Liaise with subject teachers and Heads of Year to identify and support priority students, including widening participation.
Provide academic mentoring to targeted cohorts, agreeing action plans and monitoring progress/attendance.
Track outcomes and produce concise termly reports on applications, offers and destinations.
Build employer/HE links; coordinate visits, talks and enrichment opportunities.
Uphold safeguarding, GDPR and equality standards.
Person specification
Essential Requirements:
Proven UCAS expertise and personal statement coaching experience.
Background advising on HE, apprenticeships and career routes.
Excellent communication, writing and facilitation skills.
Strong data/administration skills; confident with MS/Google tools.
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
An Enhanced DBS check (registered on the update service) and/or a willingness to undertake a new Enhanced DBS check at the request of the College
