28,000 - 29,000 per year

Shift Pattern:

10:30pm - 10:30am (approx. 3-4 waking night shifts per week)

We are recruiting

Waking Night Support Workers

to join our

therapeutic Ofsted-regulated children's residential home

in Goff's Oak, near Cheshunt. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference by providing safety, stability and emotional support to young people aged 10-17 overnight.

Every night you work, you will help children feel secure, listened to and supported-creating a foundation for positive days and brighter futures.

Key Responsibilities



Monitor the safety and wellbeing of young people through regular night-time checks Provide calm reassurance, emotional support and a consistent presence throughout the night Respond to incidents and behaviour using trauma-informed practice Follow safeguarding procedures, risk assessments and care plans at all times Keep accurate records, logs and incident reports in line with Ofsted requirements Carry out domestic tasks to maintain a clean, safe home environment Support morning routines and hand over clearly to day staff Take part in supervision, reflective practice and ongoing training

What We're Looking For



Experience supporting children or young people in residential care, social care, education, youth work or a similar setting Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete qualification) Strong communication skills and the ability to build safe, trusting relationships Emotional resilience and ability to stay calm in challenging situations Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and trauma-informed practice Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
