One Small Step was opened with an aim to create a nursery where parents feel completely relaxed and confident to leave their child in the knowledge that they will be cared for in a safe and secure environment.

At One Small Step, our effective pedagogy is a mixture of approaches. Children learn through play by adults modelling, by observing each other, through guided learning and direct teaching.

We are looking for nursery practitioners to join our small family run nursery. We can be flexible to suit the needs of each individual but can offer the following:

Full-time - we can spread your working week across 4 or 5 days, with 28 days of holiday inclusive of bank holidays. Part time - 30 hours and 24-hour working weeks are also available and considered. Support staff who are progressing their studies to support their personal professional development
We ask staff to be available to work per rota hours between 715am-530pm Monday - Friday. We close all bank holidays, for a week In August for our summer holiday and also over the Christmas period.

Salary on experience.

As we are committed to safeguarding, successful applicants will need to provide 'right to work' in the UK documentation, undertake an enhanced DBS check and obtain at least two satisfactory references before commencing employment.

The successful candidate must have:

Level 3 qualification in childcare Minimum 2 years qualified experience A strong knowledge of the current EYFS Safeguarding First Aid Training Food Hygiene Keyworker knowledge Confident to lead circle time & plan activities Be able to work in a team Be enthusiastic and motivated
