1:1 SEN Support Assistant - Key Stage 2 - Eastbourne Area
Salary: 90 - 100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time
Location: Eastbourne, Sussex
Support a Child's Journey to Success
We are working with a welcoming primary school in the Eastbourne area seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant for a Key Stage 2 pupil. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by providing tailored support to help a child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role:

  • Provide consistent one-to-one support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with special educational needs
  • Support the child's access to the curriculum and help them achieve their individual learning goals
  • Implement strategies from the child's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and individual education plan
  • Foster independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and parents to ensure consistent support
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the child's specific needs
We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a primary or Key Stage 2 setting
  • Understanding of various SEN needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities)
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to building trust and rapport
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the school team
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN-specific training) desirable
  • A commitment to helping every child reach their full potential
