We are seeking a dedicated and experienced and qualified 1:1 Support Person to work closely with children requiring specialised assistance. The ideal candidate will have a background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields, and possess excellent communication skills. This role involves providing personalised support to children with diverse needs, fostering their development across academic, behavioural, and social domains. The position is paid and offers an enriching opportunity to make a positive impact on a child's learning journey.
Responsibilities
Deliver personalised support tailored to the child's individual needs, including speech therapy, behaviour management.
Assist with early childhood development activities, including toddler care and preschool routines.
Implement behaviour management strategies and applied behaviour analysis techniques to promote positive behaviour.
Support the child's learning in physical education and other developmental activities.
Provide mentoring and emotional support to foster confidence and independence.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and therapists to develop and follow personalised education plans.
Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively regarding the child's development.
Qualifications
A qualification in SEND is essential
Experience working with children, particularly in special education or early childhood settings.
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, applied behaviour analysis, and behaviour management strategies.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with children, parents, and educational professionals.
Background in teaching, tutoring, or childcare is highly desirable.
Proven organisational skills for managing individualised programmes and documentation.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including preschool or toddler care experience.
Relevant qualifications in early childhood education, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with children in a supportive environment that values personalised care and educational excellence.
First aid training is desirable.
