Personal Assistant: One-to-One Support

We're looking for a compassionate and reliable individual to support a bright, polite, and articulate gentleman in his 30s who lives with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a significant physical disability.

He approaches life with resilience and enthusiasm, relying on his wheelchair for mobility while he enjoys actively engaging in daily tasks, community outings, and exploring a variety of places and attractions.

This is a unique opportunity, particularly well suited for moms seeking a flexible schedule that aligns effortlessly with childcare commitments during nursery and school hours, ensuring a balanced approach to work and family life.

Key Responsibilities



Promote independence and build confidence. Establish a steady routine to maintain stability and reliability. Accompany the service user to essential medical appointments. Plan enjoyable outings, including scenic drives, coastal walks, visits to attractions, entertainment shows, garden centres, coffee shops, shopping centres, and more.
Your role will be invaluable, providing steady and dependable support to help the service user navigate daily life with ease. The employer is dedicated to providing flexibility, ensuring the service user's needs are met while accommodating the successful candidate.

Flexible Schedules Available:

Schedule One (18 hrs/week)



Wednesdays: 9:00 AM - 16:00 PM, Or 9:30 AM - 16:30 PM Fridays: 9:00 AM - 16:00 PM, Or 9:30 AM - 16:30 PM Sundays: 13:00 PM - 20:00 PM, Or 14:00 PM - 21:00 PM ( Twice Per Month)

Schedule Two (18 hrs/week)



Wednesdays: 9:00 AM - 15:00 PM, Or 9:30 AM - 15:30 PM Fridays: 9:00 AM - 15:00 PM, Or 9:30 AM - 15:30 PM Sundays: 14:00 PM - 20:00 PM, Or 15:00 PM - 21:00 PM (Each Week)

Your Daily Tasks Will Include



Safely transport the service user in a specially adapted automatic vehicle. Provide personal care, including toileting, bathing, and dressing. Support with household tasks and running errands. Jointly planning and accompanying the service user on daily outings, ensuring a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

A patient, empathetic, and naturally caring individual. A calm, professional attitude with strong organisational skills. A passionate driver committed to ensuring safe journeys. Physically fit and capable of maintaining an active daily routine. In good medical health with overall physical well-being. Willingness to undergo a DBS check, provided by the (employer). Reliable, dedicated, and strong decision making skills.

Work Environment



You will provide support in a clean, safe home setting where the service user lives with his mother. His main carer provides her assistance at different times, ensuring continuity of care.
