Job overview

Hours: 30 Hours

Contract: Temporary

School: Oldfield Park Junior School

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our team in a full-time capacity, working one-to-one with a child who has complex medical and physical needs, including a tracheostomy and wheelchair use.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and medical professionals to support the child's learning, well-being, and personal development throughout the school day.

As a founding member of the Palladian Academy Trust, Oldfield Park Junior School (OPJS) is a popular eight class community school that serves Oldfield Park and the surrounding suburbs of Bath. OPJS was formed in 1893, deemed as 'Good' in its previous OFSTED inspection and currently has 249 children on roll.

Our school and children need you if you are committed to providing the highest quality of education and support for the pupils in your care, and be able to work well as part of a team alongside the class teacher, parents and other outside agencies. Ideally you would have experience of working with children with additional needs, however in house training is also provided.

In return we can offer you:

Delightful, enthusiastic and motivated learners.

Excitement, challenge and an opportunity to shine.

A leadership team who are committed to improving our school further and who view your professional development as a priority.

A friendly, supportive and committed staff determined to raise standards further.

An inclusive community.

A well-resourced school environment based in an iconic and historic building.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Head of School Mrs Van Roy (r.vanroy@palladianacademytrust.com) or our school's SENCo (p.reilly@palladianacademytrust.com)for an informal chat.

Closing date:

Monday 3rdNovember 2025

Interview date:

Week beginning Monday 10th November 2025

Start Date:

As soon as possible

Safeguarding Statement:

As this post involves working within one of these groups, we will require a Disclosure & Barring Service check and/or subscription to the DBS online service. The suitability of all prospective employees or volunteers will be assessed during the recruitment process in line with this commitment.
