About the Role:
As a 1-to-1 Learning Support Assistant, you'll work directly with learners to support their educational journey. Working closely with curriculum staff, you'll tailor outdoor learning experiences that meet each learner's individual needs, particularly for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
Safeguarding:
Maintain a safe, supportive environment aligned with safeguarding practices.
Individualised Support:
Provide tailored 1-to-1 assistance for learners with ASD and PDA.
Behaviour Management:
Implement strategies to support learners with challenging behaviours.
Outdoor Learning Engagement:
Collaborate with staff to deliver hands-on, outdoor learning activities.
Curriculum Support:
Assist in adapting lesson plans and projects to fit each learner's needs.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues to create a positive, cohesive setting.
Outdoor Resilience:
Embrace all-weather learning, embodying the Forest School ethos.
