Availability on Tuesday/Thursday/Friday afternoons (depending on what is booked by the customer)
Reliability - this is a small business and unreliability comes at a cost to the club.
Willingness to complete safeguarding and Prevent Duty online training in own time (free of charge) if not already acquired
Right to work in the UK and willingness for us to complete an enhanced DBS check

Duties:
Primarily acting as a 1:1 for a 7 year old with Autism during afternoons, offering support in emotion regulation in effort to minimise instances of unsafe behaviour, using positive handling as a last resort to maintain a safe environment.
On occasion work as a general playworker (most likely during the last week in the summer holidays) to cover absences or high demand.
Recognising and reporting any safeguarding concerns swiftly and following club policy.
Completing incident and concern forms.
Duties if acting as a general playworker:
Actively nurturing children's social, emotional and cognitive development by supervising and joining in with play, activities and games. This may involve supporting children with conflict resolution, sharing, turn-taking, modelling positive behaviours, encouraging independence, promoting British values, praising and managing behaviour and so on. Staff are expected to follow club values and policies when supporting and supervising children.
Proactively managing children's behaviour by building relationships with children who need extra support, recognising signs of frustration, intervening before a situation occurs, de-escalating situations, and using planned strategies to keep children safe and manage challenging behaviour.
Supporting the delivery of planned activities, such as crafts, games, experiments and sports, using the planning provided.
Supporting children at mealtimes.
Day-to-day cleaning and tidying (including sharing the responsibility of cleaning 3 toilets), and organising toys in an attractive and safe way.
General health and safety duties such as keeping toys clean and checking for damage, supporting with fire drills, vigilance in spotting and removing hazards etc.
Recognising and reporting any safeguarding concerns swiftly and following club policy.
Preparing snacks for children (only if willing to complete food safety training - level 2 -provided and free of charge).
