1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Supply Role

Location: Durham Contract: Supply / Flexible (Day-to-Day or Short-Term) Working Hours: Full School Day (Monday to Friday - as required) Start Date: 01.09.2025



Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEND TA to work on a supply basis, offering personalised support to pupils in inclusive, supportive school environments.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met Implement learning strategies and behaviour plans tailored to the pupil Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for learning Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support progress and wellbeing Adapt resources and instructions to make learning accessible Promote social and emotional development alongside academic support Maintain clear records of progress, behaviour, and incidents where needed Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and professional conduct

What We're Looking For:



Experience working 1:1 with children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH) A calm, patient, and empathetic approach Good communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of EHCPs and inclusive strategies (desirable) A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and eligibility to work in the UK Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are a bonus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary

Pay: 103.00-115.00 per day

Schedule:

Day shift Monday to Friday No weekends
Work Location: On the road
