1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Summary



St Martin's School are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. You will be working within a small EYFS cohort, providing support and assistance to an EHCP child who needs support with building confidence and interactions in the classroom and assistance in accessing all areas of school life.

Qualifications & Experience



Relevant qualification(s), ideally in supporting teaching and learning or childcare (essential)

Previous experience in an early years setting (desired)

Experience in working with ASD children (desired)

Understanding of a private school setting (desired)

General Responsibilities



To adhere to the staff conduct policy and other relevant school policies.

To recognise and promote the ethos of the school and to be a role model for pupils.

To safeguard and promote the general well-being of pupils.

To actively promote the Christian ethos of the school.

To support a pupil with additional needs and help them to reach their full potential.

To reinforce behaviour standards and follow the school's Behaviour and Anti-bullying policies

To liaise with the class teacher to successfully facilitate integration of a 1:1 ECHP child into an EYFS setting.

To assist in the delivery of the EYFS curriculum on a 1:1 basis.

To carry out administrative and practical duties relating to the role.

5 days a week (27.5 hours)

Monday to Thursday (9am-3pm), Friday (9am - 12:30pm)

Term time only

Fixed term contract until July 2026, potential to be extended (funding dependent)
