Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with special educational needs. This role involves supporting teachers in delivering high-quality education and ensuring that all students, including those with autism and other disabilities, receive the attention and assistance they require to thrive in a learning environment.

Duties

Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of students, particularly those with autism and other disabilities. Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons, ensuring they understand the material and can participate fully. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence. Support children with special educational needs by implementing individual education plans (IEPs) as directed by the teacher. Engage in effective communication with students, parents, and staff to promote a collaborative learning environment. Supervise students during playtime and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, preparing teaching materials, and maintaining classroom organisation.

Requirements

Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other disabilities, is highly desirable. A background in special education or relevant qualifications would be an advantage. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Experience in toddler care is beneficial for roles involving younger age groups. A genuine passion for teaching and supporting the development of children in an educational setting.
