The Role
Position:
Full-Time Teaching Assistant Location: St Andrew's CE Primary School, Weald Drive, Crawley, RH10 6NU
(Just 30 minutes from the A27/A23 junction near Brighton)
Start Date:
as soon as possible
Contract:
Temporary term-time contract-linked to the child, but may become a permanent position
Includes 30 minutes of Midday Meals (MDM) supervision duties
Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications (NJC Scale 3 - 4)
We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a child who requires additional support with their learning and wellbeing. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the child access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence within a supportive classroom environment.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic one to one Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider school team to deliver tailored support, implement individual education plans, and promote inclusion and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one support to a named child in line with their individual needs and targets.
Assist with learning activities, adapting materials and approaches where necessary.
Support the child's social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and self-esteem.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to monitor and report on progress.
Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Maintain confidentiality and follow all safeguarding procedures at all times.
Supportive of our school's Christian values and ethos
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children with additional or special educational needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, or SEMH).
Be patient, flexible, and understanding, with a positive attitude towards supporting individual needs.
Be able to build warm, trusting relationships with children and staff.
Work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and leaders.
Demonstrate good communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding.
Hold (or be willing to work towards) a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
