Teaching Qualification
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Manchester Adult Education needs a team leader to lead on its 16-18 ESOL study programme, principally working with 16-18 year old unaccompanied asylum seeker children.
The role involves:
Teaching a group of 16-18 year old learners
Coordinating the programme
Developing links with partners
Scheduling and coordinating progress review meetings with social workers
Assessing, enrolling and inducting new learners
Line management of Band A teaching staff
Coordinating, leading & recording attendances on afternoon activity programmes
Identifying and following up "at risk" learners
Coordinating with MAES IAG & learning support to help learners achieve
Entering learners for and administering exams
Helping to develop schemes of work
About the Candidate Qualified and experienced tutor preferably with management experience.
