Teaching Qualification
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Manchester Adult Education needs a team leader to lead on its 16-18 ESOL study programme, principally working with 16-18 year old unaccompanied asylum seeker children.
The role involves:
Teaching a group of 16-18 year old learners
Coordinating the programme
Developing links with partners
Scheduling and coordinating progress review meetings with social workers
Assessing, enrolling and inducting new learners
Line management of Band A teaching staff
Coordinating, leading & recording attendances on afternoon activity programmes
Identifying and following up "at risk" learners
Coordinating with MAES IAG & learning support to help learners achieve
Entering learners for and administering exams
Helping to develop schemes of work
