Kitchen Assistant - various roles available
13.15 per hour
Term time only, Monday to Friday
With our expanded campus offering, we're looking for enthusiastic, adaptable Kitchen Assistants to join our hardworking and friendly team.
At peak times, our kitchen is a busy, fast-paced environment serving hot food and drinks to the students and staff on campus. If you thrive under pressure, can juggle multiple tasks, and enjoy being part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
All roles are Monday to Friday, term time only, following the published University teaching weeks. We currently have opportunities within the team for both full-time (35 hours per week) and part-time (14 hours per week) hours as well as permanent or 9-month fixed term contracts. But we're not fixed on these hours - we know flexibility matters. Whether you're looking for something different, need to work around other commitments, or want to explore shift options, we're happy to discuss how we can make the role work for you.
What you'll be doing:
Assisting with day-to-day kitchen tasks including daily food preparation, and cooking food items. Providing outstanding customer service at all times and promoting the values of the Students' Union Adhering to Food Safety and Hygiene Laws and practices Support Kitchen Supervisor with menu planning, ordering and student staff training Supporting with monthly stock counting and stock management.
