This role requires both creativity in menu development and efficiency in food production.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and high-quality food production. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team management. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, following all health and safety regulations. Monitor food inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate supplies. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety practices. Develop seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends while considering guest preferences.

Skills

Proven experience in a culinary role with strong food preparation and cooking skills. Supervising experience in a kitchen environment is essential for effective team management. Excellent leadership abilities to motivate and inspire kitchen staff. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, demonstrating an understanding of fast-paced environments. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required. A passion for culinary arts with an eye for detail in presentation and flavour combinations.
