We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. at The Masons Arms. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety. This position requires a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menu items while ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to guarantee quality and adherence to recipes.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high morale.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste through effective food production practices.
Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dishes and improve existing recipes based on customer feedback.
Run service and kitchen on the head chefs days off/holidays
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or food production environment.
Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff effectively.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across all levels.
A passion for cooking and helping others develop their culinary skills is essential for this role.
