Join the core support team at LaneSystems and take on a critical role delivering high level technical support and managing infrastructure across our client base. This position is focused on working closely with our 3rd Line Technicians and Security Department, assisting with the execution of projects and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Technical Support & Infrastructure
Provide comprehensive 2nd line support, resolving complex incidents that require in depth troubleshooting across client environments, including servers, networking, virtualisation and M365.
Directly support 3rd Line and Security Technicians by assisting with planned project deployments, executing scheduled server maintenance, and carrying out advanced client configuration tasks.
Perform routine Windows Server health checks, patching, reboots, and verification checks.
Document resolution steps and contribute to internal knowledge base articles, specifically supporting 3rd line and Security documentation needs.
Security & Protection Assistance
Monitor and proactively respond to antivirus alerts (Webroot, Microsoft Defender, Sophos Intercept X & MDR).
Manage Windows and application patching to close vulnerabilities and maintain client compliance.
Assist the security team with periodic checks, reporting, and administrative maintenance tasks.
Backup & Data Resilience
Monitor daily backup jobs using Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam 365.
Perform regular test restores and recovery checks as required.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support role, demonstrating strong diagnostic abilities, ideally within an MSP environment.
Solid troubleshooting skills across Microsoft Windows Server, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and virtualisation principles.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and support (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
Strong interest in cybersecurity and data protection.
Excellent problem solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Certifications, Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in an IT support or MSP environment is desirable.
Any relevant IT certifications (Microsoft 365, CompTIA, Veeam) are advantageous but not essential.
Full UK driving licence and own transport are required for site visits.
Security Checks:
LaneSystems requires staff to complete DBS and BPSS Checks. This will be completed following acceptance of an offer from the candidate.
