We have 4 Care Homes located within West Lothian - Livingston (Limecroft and Craigmair), Whitburn (Whitdale) and West Calder (Burngrange) offering support to older people within their own communities.

We currently have Social Care Practitioner vacancies (1 x 35hrs at Burngrange Care Home, West Calder and 1 x 28.8hrs at Whitdale Care Home, Whitburn). There is potential to be flexible around the number of hours, so please discuss this at interview. We may also have Social Care Practitioner vacancies arise within our other care homes, Limecroft and Burngrange during the duration of this advert.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team to provide overnight support. These posts are located in Whitburn and Livingston.

You will lead a team of Social Care Support workers delivering personalised support to older people overnight. This includes meeting all personal care needs, administration of medication and ensuring the security and safety of those in your care and the building.

Some experience, which includes personal experience, is preferred, but not essential, as we will offer you training to develop your skills and knowledge whilst doing the job. We do expect you to demonstrate a commitment to your learning and will support you complete SVQ 3.

A rotational shift system is in operation which includes weekend working.

This post is considered Regulated work with children and/or protected Adults under the vulnerable groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
