Delivery Driver

Daily responsibilities will include:

Deliveries

Deliver a wide range of products to different address and through different routes. Load and unload products on and off the vehicle. On a daily basis to check the order forms and organise the most efficient delivery round so as to ensure all deliveries are delivered on the day they are assigned for. Collect payments. Check the packaging to ensure it is correctly addressed and to physically check that the items match the order note prior to leaving the bakery; Deliver the orders as per the daily order sheet and to report back to the Bakery Manager at regular intervals during the shift to give a progress update and to alert management to any problems, for example late running deliveries or road traffic congestion. Alert the management immediately if it is likely that an order(s) may not be delivered to the customer within the quoted time period and to return any undelivered items to the bakery at the end of the shift (no customer orders are to be left in the van overnight). Check the orders on arrival at the delivery address, prior to final delivery, to ensure that the goods and/or packaging has not been damaged or dislodged during transit. Ensure that the deliveries are checked by the recipient customer, and signed for as in good order. Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer issues and complaints. Transport products from the unit to the retail store. Spot opportunities and obtain new customers along the route. Complete logs and reports. Target new customers on the rounds

Maintenance

Undertake daily safety checks of the delivery vehicle paying attention to the roadworthiness of the vehicle. To report any problems or potential problems to the bakery management immediately. ensure the company vehicle is maintained in good order and is clean and presentable both internally and externally. Drive and park the vehicle with courtesy and consideration for other road users and members of the public and in accordance with all road traffic regulations (please note that any fines or penalties incurred as a result of a breach of road traffic regulations, including parking in an unauthorised location, will normally be deducted from the driver's salary). Report immediately any accidents or incidents involving the Company vehicle. including any damage to the vehicle, to the bakery management team. Wear the Uncle John's Bakery's staff uniform at all times whilst on duty Undertake other driving duties as directed by a member of the management team.

Health & Safety

Adhere to Health & Safety and road traffic regulations and procedures. Adhere to sanitation regulations. Wear the company uniform and maintain the highest level of personal hygiene.

Line Management

Reporting directly to the Delivery Supervisor and Bakery Manager
