Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently on various site projects. This role requires a strong understanding of machinery operation, safety protocols, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical knowledge and experience in commercial driving to contribute to large-scale infrastructure developments.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling tasks with precision and safety. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on excavator equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow project plans and instructions from site supervisors to complete assigned tasks within deadlines. Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with site preparation and clean-up activities as required. Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient utilisation of machinery. Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any equipment issues promptly.

Requirements

Proven experience operating excavators in a construction or similar environment. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on machinery. Valid commercial driving licence (or equivalent) with a clean driving record. Strong understanding of health and safety standards related to heavy equipment operation. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
