Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating excavators in various settings, waste management and scrap metal. This role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while performing excavation tasks.

Responsibilities

Operate machine safely to move, load and sort waste materials. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Use attachments e.g grabs, buckets depending on the type of waste. Assist in the processing of recyclable and recyclable waste streams. Maintain the excavator by performing routine inspections and basic mechanical repairs as needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on site. Load waste into crushers, screeners shredders or transport vehicles. Stockpile and segregate waste materials according to facility requirements.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Excavator Operator or similar role. Previous experience in waste management or recycling environments will benefit. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments. THIS IS A WEEKEND ROLE OF FRIDAY 8am - 6pm, SATURDAY 8am - 1pm AND SUNDAY 8am - 1pm.
