We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator and general operative to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to assist with excavation, site preparation, and other related tasks. Responsibilities
Operate excavators and other heavy machinery with precision and safety awareness to perform excavation, trenching, and site grading tasks.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
Assist with site preparation activities, including clearing debris, digging foundations, and moving materials as required.
Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Maintain a clean work area, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate activities and optimise workflow on-site.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
Skills
Proven experience in operating excavators in a construction or civil engineering environment.
Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on machinery.
Familiarity with site safety procedures and regulations.
Ability to operate commercial driving vehicles is advantageous but not essential.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team setting.
