Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy machinery to perform various tasks on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, as well as the ability to dig and manoeuvre materials efficiently and safely. The Excavator Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

Duties

Operate excavators and other heavy machinery in accordance with safety regulations and company policies. Perform digging, trenching, and grading tasks as required by project specifications. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate work activities effectively. Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are stored safely after use. Follow all safety protocols to minimise risks on site, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain excavators effectively. Proficient in digging techniques and understanding of soil types for efficient excavation. Valid commercial driving licence is preferred for operating vehicles associated with excavation tasks. Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and supervisors effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
