Overview

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating excavators in various environments. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe completion of excavation tasks on construction sites. The Excavator Operator will work closely with other team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators and other heavy machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning. Perform excavation tasks including digging, grading, and trenching as per project specifications. Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate work activities. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimise risks on site.

Requirements

Proven experience operating excavators in a commercial setting. Strong mechanical knowledge to understand equipment functions and perform basic repairs. Valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting equipment when necessary. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also demonstrating independence when required. Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and supervisors effectively. A commitment to safety practices and the ability to identify potential hazards on site.
