We are seeking a number of self-employed, skilled and reliable Excavator Operators to join our construction team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently to assist with various trench excavation, lifting and concrete placement activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for construction machinery and a commitment to safety and precision. The successful applicant will be required to work on-site, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to handle demanding environments. We have sites nationwide.
Responsibilities
Operate excavators to perform digging, lifting, and moving earth or materials in accordance with project specifications
Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal functioning and report any faults or maintenance needs
Assist with site preparation, grading and trenching activities as directed
Follow health and safety protocols at all times to minimise risks on site
Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks
Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage
Support other construction activities requiring mechanical expertise or assistance with commercial driving when necessary
Skills
MSite Highways Passport (preferred)
Proven experience operating excavators in a construction or civil engineering environment
Strong mechanical knowledge of excavator components and maintenance procedures
Good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Physical fitness and stamina to work in outdoor conditions for extended periods
Valid CPCS (blue card) /NPORS above 10 tonne with lifting ops for excavator operation.
Valid Safety Critical Medical (SEQOHS)
Able to pass a drugs and alcohol test
