This role will be based at Aurrigo's headquarters in Coventry, UK within the Advanced Engineering Centre where you will be working on Auto-Sim an ever-evolving simulation suite aimed at assisting the aviation sector in proving business cases for new airport investment.

Overview



We're looking for a creative and versatile

Graduate Technical 3D Artist

who is passionate about modelling, texturing, and animation, and excited to support other aspects of software development too.

In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with designers and engineers to bring immersive, high-performance visuals to life for simulation and training environments. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate eager to grow in both the artistic and technical dimensions of 3D production.

Key Responsibilities



3D Art & Asset Creation



Model and texture 3D assets (props, environments) using tools like Blender, Adobe Substance 3D, etc. Optimise assets for real-time rendering in engines like Godot, Unity, or Unreal Assist with lighting, shading, and scene composition for simulations

Technical & Development Support



Integrate 3D assets into game engines or software projects Write or adapt simple scripts (e.g. Unity C#, Unreal Blueprints, or Python) Support asset pipeline automation, scene testing, and prototyping Help with QA by identifying asset or integration bugs Contribute to technical documentation and process guides for the wider team

Requirements



A bachelor's degree in 3D Art, Game Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field A strong portfolio showing 3D modelling, texturing, or animation skills Ability to create and adjust collision meshes and lightmaps. Basic familiarity with Unity, Unreal, or Godot An interest in scripting (C#, Python, Blueprints, etc.) Willingness to learn and get involved beyond traditional art roles Strong communication skills and an ability to work in a cross-functional team

Nice-to-Haves



Experience with version control (e.g., Git) Understanding of shader graphs or custom materials Familiarity with creating VR-ready content Experience with procedural modelling or geometry nodes in Blender Exposure to Agile workflows or multidisciplinary project work Knowledge of rigging and basic animation
