Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as the 3rd in Charge. This leadership role is vital in supporting the daily operations of our childcare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organised environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, experience with children, and excellent communication abilities. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills within a supportive setting committed to early childhood education.

Duties

Assist the senior staff in overseeing daily activities within the nursery or childcare environment Support with organising age-appropriate activities and educational programmes Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times Lead by example in maintaining high standards of behaviour and organisation Support with behavioural management and conflict resolution among children Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and communication with parents or guardians Step into leadership roles in the absence of senior staff, ensuring smooth operation of the nursery Assist with organising outings or trips, including driving when necessary Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children and staff

Skills

Proven management and leadership experience within childcare settings or early childhood education Strong understanding of childcare practices, including nursery experience or early childhood development programmes Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to engage effectively with children, demonstrating patience and empathy Experience working with children of various ages and backgrounds Valid driving licence for transporting children when required Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst taking initiative when needed
