Job Description

I am looking for a 400kV Lead Senior Authorised Person to mentor and train SAPs, plan outages and always ensure SFTS. You will be responsible for Safety from the System and carrying out all duties associated with the onshore substation package.

Requirements

Previous authorisations 400kV as a Senior Authorised Person Ideally previously experienced as a Lead SAP, 400kV SAP or Control Engineer Solid understanding of Electrical Safety relating to transmission and offshore wind Experience and understanding of a WTGs, ONS and OSS Full GWO DNO or National Grid experience is desired but not essential Experience within construction on a wind farm

Responsibilities

Oversee offshore transmission infrastructure, including the OFTO National Grid tie-in from ONS to OSS, ensuring safe and reliable operation of offshore platforms. Coordinate activities alongside onshore Project Managers, acting as the key point of contact for offshore operations. Carry out monthly inspections, routine maintenance, and raise defect notifications on equipment. Participate in a 24/7 on-call duty rota, responding to alarms and defects as the first-line responder. Investigate site issues and implement corrective actions where required. Plan and manage outages, including both onshore and offshore work scopes, ensuring safe execution. Deliver outage planning, engaging with contractors, suppliers, and OEMs as required. Lead defect resolution and snagging with OEM suppliers to maintain operational performance. Manage and resolve faults across offshore assets, ensuring effective escalation and follow-up. Monitor and support Senior Authorised Persons Provide training, mentoring, and oversight to EMTs and junior SAPs, supporting their development. Drive knowledge transfer from experienced 400kV SAPs, ensuring team competence and succession planning. Act as a hub leader, coordinating workstreams, team activities, and training delivery.
