Job Description

Are you an experienced 7.5T driver looking for a local, non-delivery driving role?

We're looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Shunt Driver to join our busy delivery operation at our Avonmouth hub and help keep everything moving smoothly behind the scenes.

What You'll Do:



Shunt 7.5T vehicles/trailers between our clients and our local sites Support warehouse and yard teams with vehicle positioning Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure safety compliance Maintain accurate movement logs and report any vehicle issues Ensure all shunting tasks are completed safely and on time Handling and returning customer returns to the customer service bay and loading bay. Where required possibly helping out with home deliveries if operational needed

You will need:



Full UK Driving Licence with C1 (7.5T entitlement) Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card Experience working in a yard or shunting environment preferred Good awareness of health and safety Reliable, flexible and team-focused attitude Right to work in the UK - we do not offer sponsorship

Role Profile



This role is responsible for the delivery and collection of goods safely and efficiently using a 7.5-tonne vehicle, ensuring excellent customer service, full legal compliance, and the protection of goods and vehicle at all times.

Responsibilities



Driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Shunt 7.5T vehicles/trailers between our clients and our local sites Handling/returning customer returns to the customer service bay and loading bay. Support warehouse and yard teams with vehicle positioning Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure safety compliance Maintain accurate movement logs and report any vehicle issues Ensure all shunting tasks are completed safely and on time Following routes efficiently, potentially using maps or GPS, and adjusting for traffic or unexpected delays Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, always providing a professional and courteous service. Comply with UK road traffic laws Ensure you have the correct paperwork for the day. Liaise with the transport office as/when required. Handle goods with care, including fragile, or high-value items. Follow company policies relating to vehicle operation, and customer service. Represent the company in a professional manner - wearing uniform, professional conduct. End of day vehicle check, mileage, fuel Carry out multi-drop and/or scheduled deliveries and collections if there is a requirement due to operational needs Comply with both Unitmovements and IKEA's health and safety policies.

Pay: 14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
