Job Description

This is initially a temporary assignment for a 13-week period, with strong potential for permanent employment following successful completion of the probationary period and performance review

Working Days:

Monday to Saturday 5 out of 6 Job and Knock 8 hours paid
Shift Pattern:

8-10-hour shifts 4am starts

Qualifications required

Full UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlement Valid Driver CPC qualification Digital Tachograph Card

Key responsibilities

Execute daily multi-drop deliveries of fresh and chilled food products to retail and foodservice customers Follow efficient planned routes to ensure timely deliveries and maintain product quality Load and unload own van manually, involving significant physical effort and repeated handballing of chilled and fresh items Clean out the vehicle regularly to maintain hygiene and operational standards Ensure all deliveries are scanned and recorded accurately using handheld devices Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks, reporting any issues promptly Maintain high standards of customer service, always representing the company professionally Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and road transport regulations, including tachograph rules Keep the delivery vehicle clean and organised to support operational efficiency

Skills required

Valid UK Category C1 (7.5t) driving licence with Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card Physically fit and capable of handling frequent manual handling tasks and heavy lifting Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to tight delivery schedules Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach Ability to work independently while maintaining high reliability and punctuality Attention to detail for accurate scanning, paperwork, and compliance with procedures Previous experience in multi-drop or fresh food delivery preferred Basic literacy and numeracy
