Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.

Responsibilities

Operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for the transportation of goods across various locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, including flatbed deliveries when required. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork associated with deliveries. Follow designated routes and schedules while adhering to traffic laws and regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.

Skills

Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate category for 7.5 tonne vehicles. Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with a background in delivery driving. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for operating larger vehicles. Ability to handle flatbed loads safely and securely, demonstrating attention to detail during loading and unloading processes. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members efficiently. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety on the road.
