Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to all road safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess experience in commercial driving and have a good understanding of flatbed operations.

Duties

Operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for the transportation of goods to designated locations. Ensure timely and safe delivery while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo, particularly when using flatbed configurations. Maintain accurate delivery records, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur during transport. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate category for 7.5 tonne vehicles. Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role is preferred. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service excellence. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times. A good understanding of health and safety regulations related to driving and cargo handling.
