Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to traffic regulations while ensuring timely delivery. The Driver will also be expected to perform basic maintenance checks on the vehicle and assist with loading and unloading as needed.

Duties

Safely operate vehicles for the transportation of goods and materials. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, routes, and any incidents. Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe driving practices. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Perform basic mechanical checks and maintenance on the vehicle as necessary. Assist in planning efficient routes to optimise delivery times.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type. Strong mechanical knowledge to perform routine checks and minor repairs on vehicles. Ability to dig or assist in loading heavy materials when required. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for record keeping. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. A commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.62-17.04 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
