We are seeking a dedicated VB-ABA tutor to join our specialist education team at Beehive ABA in Bounds Green, North London. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and creating a nurturing learning environment. We are an ABA therapy centre for children with Autism and we are searching for an ABA-VB tutor (with/without the qualification of a Registered Behaviour Technician if applicable). As an ABA-VB tutor, you will be trained to provide 1:1 therapy session for pre-school age children with additional educational needs in our therapy centre. Your training will be provided by our in-house Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts. During your time with us you can be supported to complete the Registered Behaviour Technician Training and become an RBT.
Responsibilities
- Implement engaging and age-appropriate educational activities for children
- Manage the daily care routines of the children
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Lead by example and demonstrate strong leadership skills
- To provide 1:1 teaching to pre-school age children with additional educational needs (predominantly autism) using ABA techniques.
- To collect and analyse data to support the development of individualised therapy programmes.
Skills
- Experience in an ABA program, home or school setting &/or early childhood education or nursery setting desirable
- Ability to manage and support children's development
- Strong communication skills in English
- Drive and enthusiasm for working with young children
- Registered Behaviour Technician training or an early years NVQ level 3 to 6 or a childcare degree
What will I be doing on a daily basis?
On a daily basis you will be working as a team to contribute to the running of the centre by:
Setting up before sessions
Making and preparing pupil specific resources
Packing away after sessions
During the sessions you will be working as a team to:
Host drop offs and collection times for the children
Facilitate snack time
Toileting and personal care
Host and support group sessions (music, arts and crafts, messy play, story sacks, turn taking games)
During the sessions as a therapist you will be
:
Fun, energetic, active and motivating to our pre-school age children
1:1 with a child (on occasions of staff shortage this may be a higher child ratio)
Implementing personalised Therapy targets
Taking clear and accurate data on specific targets and behaviours
Provide 1:1 support on community trips
Calmly and patiently manage challenging behaviour in accordance with the techniques detailed in behaviour support plans
Assist with the children's personal care needs (e.g. toileting, washing, dressing)
As a key worker you will be responsible for 1-2 key children. You will be:
Graphing and analysing data
Taking observations and notes for learning journals in accordance with the EYFS
Collecting data and completing ABA assessments
Analysing weekly data and updating targets and programme information
Making individualised resources
Organising and ensuring all programme resources are available
Attend internal and external meetings about your key children on parent request

Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children in Beehive Centre
Hours of work
Are between 8.30am-5.30pm (shifts), Monday to Friday 35 hours per week
We are able to offer flexible contracts (full/part/hour contracts) based on candidate preferrences
All year around. The Beehive Centre closes for a part of the school holidays
