JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION
Job Title: Abbey Centre Caretaker
Job Status: This role is part time
Job Purpose: To provide general security, maintenance and care for the Abbey Centre, Chapel and Grounds
Duties:
1. To ensure the security of the premises
2. To liaise regularly with the Centre Manager regarding bookings of the building and premises
3. To keep the buildings and grounds tidy, clean and maintained to a good standard when on duty
4. To care for the premises and users
5. To be conversant with the fire, lighting and heating procedures
6. To be conversant with health and safety
7. To liaise with the members of the Church and Trustees
8. The post-holder will be expected to carry out any other appropriate duties as and when required.
SPECIFICATION
Experience in posts holding similar responsibilities
Experience with cleaning and handywork
Organised and structured in approach to work
Ability to deal with the public in an understanding, fair and firm way
Ability to work on own and as part of a team
Ability to relate to people
Enthusiastic and cheerful
Reliable and trustworthy
Flexible and willing to learn
In sympathy with Christian values
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.25 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
