Long-term placement at Plas Pawb, a children's nursery in Caernarfon. The successful applicant will be expected to come to Caernarfon for their induction period and development days.


Temporary Post :- A developmental opportunity to pursue a career path in Social Care. There is a possibility for individuals to complete qualifications, a degree and gain various experiences to work towards a role in Care Management, becoming a Social Worker or Occupational Therapist. A position will be guaranteed for the first three years of the Academi scheme and support will be available following the three years to follow a developmental pathway.


Salary:- Point 3 is equivalent to 24,796 annually. The pay point advertised here is a starting point. Your wage will increase as you develop through Academi Gofal Gwynedd to reflect responsibility and when competencies criteria's are met.

Listening and Speaking - Higher level

Able to follow a conversation or discussion through the medium of Welsh and English on a professional level and discuss general day to day topics in the field in order to present information and express opinions.

Able to give a pre-prepared presentation and respond to any comments and questions on it in Welsh or English.


Reading and Comprehension - Intermediate level

Understand everyday correspondence on familiar issues at work.

Understand longer reports in Clear Welsh and be able to pick up the main points. (help may be required with the vocabulary).


Writing - Intermediate level

Able to write letters for a specific purpose, e-mails and short reports in Welsh and English, using vocabulary and simple phrases that are familiar to the field of work. (They will need to be checked before being sent out).



Purpose of the Post.

Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do. Help people live their life the way they wish to live it

Responsibility for functions . e.g. staff, budgets, equipment

Learn how to make appropriate use of specialised tools and equipment that help the individual live their life according to their personal wishes and objectives. This will include reporting deficiencies and following specialist practice and training protocols as needed.
Main Duties

Initial period- completing e-learning, undertaking mandatory training e.g. moving and handling and completion of periods of work experiences within Learning disabilities, adults and children Services. Undertaking a development programme leading to the completion of the All-Wales Health and Social Care Establishment Framework and completing of all relevant qualifications as you progress. Undertake a development program in a field relevant to your placement, e.g., a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, etc. Be part of a team, where you learn about working in a care environment, including health and safety, equal opportunities, dignity, respect and learn how to make connections with other people. Also have the opportunity to receive supervision and mentoring from experienced staff. Work closely under supervision with internal and external partners To get the best results for the service users e.g. Social Workers, nurses, occupational therapists, GPs etc. Attend supervision meetings, team meetings, and training days to develop and contribute to the team's success. Develop skills to establish a person-centred approach in helping adults and children retain their independence, ensuring their care and support needs are met safely. All while promoting wellbeing, health, development, safety, equality, inclusion and respect for diversity. Develop skills to build relationships with users to understand exactly what would make a difference to their lives and to empower the person's voice at every opportunity. Demonstrate empathy, care, and understanding when it comes to the specialised and complex needs of the people you care for and support. Adhere to all Council policies and procedures including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and confidentiality legislations. Develop skills to offer high quality care ensuring that the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, creative and development needs of users are met. Work towards offering all care work related duties including personal care and supporting the individuals using the service. Operating and utilising IT Systems Pass all milestones to be able to continue to the next level of Academi Gofal Gwynedd. Have a positive attitude towards Learning and Development skills and information along the way. Develop skills so that it is possible to be an advocate for people to ensure that their individual rights and choices are respected. Under supervision you will be required to accurately and lawfully record relevant documentation that contributes to the service user's care file. It will be necessary to ensure alignment with the National Care Standards for older people and good work practice. Under supervision you will be required to keep appropriate records, prepare reports, and participate in child achievement meetings to ensure that parents are as involved as much as possible in the centre and at home. Learning the Medicine procedure, undertaking training to understand it (not administering) Register with Social Care Wales - What is registration? | Social Care Wales Responsibility for self-development. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council's Health and Safety Policy. Operate within the Council's policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality. Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council's information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation. Commitment to reducing the Council's carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council's Carbon Footprint. Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
