The Academic Development team at the University of Law is a central hub of educational experts committed to supporting colleagues to deliver engaging research-informed teaching and outstanding student learning experiences.


As our

Academic Developer Research Lead

, you will lead the strategic planning and operational delivery of research development initiatives within the institution. This role focuses on supporting academic colleagues in building research capacity, securing funding, and integrating research-informed teaching practices across programmes.


This is an exciting role, which plays a pivotal role in fostering a research and scholarship environment, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and external regulatory standards.


Please note: this is a permanent, homeworking position.

As

Academic Developer Research Lead

at The University of Law, you will be:


Contributing to development and implementation of the University's research and scholarship strategy Providing support and training to colleagues engaged in discipline-based and educational research Partnering with academic colleagues to support research funding applications Providing support for scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and student-staff partnership projects Collating research outputs to support any future REF submission and ensuring compliance with relevant mandates Remaining updated on key topics and discussions in the wider Higher Education (HE) research and academic development landscape.

We are looking for individuals who are/have:




Proven experience in research development or academic research management within higher education, with experience of leading and supporting others to carry out SoTL and student-staff partnership projects Strong understanding of research processes, methodologies, and funding landscapes Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to continuous improvement. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Experience of teaching in higher education and supervising educational research projects
