We are looking to appoint a
Science Academic Mentor
to support students across the science curriculum, helping to raise attainment and build confidence in scientific understanding.This role is particularly suited to a
Science graduate
considering a future career in teaching, offering hands-on experience working with students in a school environment.Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring in
Science
Support students with subject knowledge, practical understanding, and exam preparation Monitor student progress and engagement Work collaboratively with Science teachers and pastoral staff Encourage effective study habits and independent learning Maintain accurate mentoring records Promote high expectations and enthusiasm for learningPerson Specification
Degree in
a Science subject
(e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics) (essential) Interest in pursuingteacher training
(desirable) Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to motivate and support learners of different abilities Reliable, proactive, and professional Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfareJob Type: Part-time
Pay: 97.68-110.00 per day
Expected hours: 32.5 per week
Work Location: In person
