Are you an experienced university administrator with a passion for supporting postgraduate education? The University of Oxford is seeking a

Senior Course Administrator

to join our Academic Programmes team. This is a pivotal role overseeing the full lifecycle of a postgraduate taught course - from admissions through to graduation - and providing vital support to both students and academic staff.


About the Role



As Senior Course Administrator, you will coordinate all aspects of course administration, student support, and assessment processes. You will work closely with the Course Directors, Academic Programmes Manager, and wider university teams to ensure the course runs smoothly and meets the highest standards of academic delivery.


Key responsibilities include:


Managing admissions, assessment, and examination processes Providing first-line academic support and advice to students Overseeing teaching organisation, timetabling and placements Coordinating course events and documentation Liaising with internal departments including Finance, HR, and central University bodies Line-managing an Academic Programmes Assistant Supporting financial processes related to stipends, scholarships, and third-term placements Maintaining course websites and learning platforms Handling student records, quality assurance, and data analysis
This is a dynamic and varied role with scope to support additional academic programmes as the Centre grows.


About You



You will be a proactive and organised individual with a strong background in academic administration and a commitment to student experience. You'll thrive in a complex environment and enjoy collaborating with colleagues across departments.


Essential selection criteria include:



Proven experience in a university-based administrative role Proven experience of student and course administration processes Experience of using eVision, Inspera, Canvas, and examiner payment portals (Oxford-specific experience required) A working understanding of GDPR in a higher education context
