About the role




This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our Education and Initial Teacher Training (ITT) provision in the development and training of prospective teachers and the promotion of teaching and learning, research and reach-out activities across the faculty, in the vibrant School of Education at the University of Sunderland.


The School of Education is currently seeking to expand its pool of Academic Tutors. We are particularly interested in Academic Tutors who could support the design and delivery of Secondary Education Computer Science with QTS programme. Hours may vary as and when work is available.


As an Academic Tutor in Initial Teacher Training, you will work within the ITT Team across the range of provision, and engage in several activities, including the development of teaching materials and high-quality delivery of these, marking of assessments, supporting trainee progress and supervision of trainees on practicum. What you can bring




The successful candidate will possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established teaching programmes. You will have demonstrable commitment to engagement in continuous professional development.


You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills Status (QTLS) / Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS)
